All you will need is comfortable work out clothes and motivation. We also recommend a sweat towel and lots of water as class can be very rigorous.
We understand that not every exercise is for everyone. Even though our exercises are designed to increase your functional mobility, we know that certain medical and physical limitations can hinder your progress. What we do to accommodate you is find an acceptable starting point that allows you to participate with out doing unnecessary harm to your body.
Yes the movements are safe when preformed properly and under supervision. Movements such as squat are by some considered unsafe but if you shouldn't squat down, than you shouldn't sit down, or stand from a seated position, it's that simple. The movements used in our training system are derived from natural functional movement needed in everyday life, such as lifting an object overhead, or picking/hoisting an object off of the floor. Even our more advanced movements are just an extension from these basic functional movements. Yes you can get hurt from any movement done improperly or with improper training. We teach you soumd technique before adding intensity to prevent injuries.
The goal with most training systems that are currently available is simply to make you look fit. Looking fit isn't a bad thing however; those systems come up short when your goal is to be fit. Our training is effective because our goal isn't just to make you have the best looking body. We focus on improving your ability to do any physical task that may be required of you, from shoveling snow to fighting fires. We don’t want you to just look fit we want you to be fit from the inside out.
Depending on the severity of your injury you should seek medical advice. If your injury does not completely prevent you from returning to training, we've found that doing some work in other unaffected areas has been beneficial in recovering sooner.
What we do is post the current work out that we are training in the gym that day. If you are familiar with the exercises and have enough equipment this allows you to continue to self train when your not able to attend the class. Some exercises are specific to our gym but, information on most of the exercises can be obtained from links on the main page.
The exercises that I pick for the work out of the day are as randomized as possible so as to mimic real life. I have choosen this format because of my personal success with Crossfit.com. I have found that not knowing what to prepare for helps to give and added shock to my body and has shown me the greatest results.
